How we make money

Square Deal’s tools and guides are free. Here’s how the site pays for itself, and the rules we follow so that money never shapes what we tell you about a quote.

Where the money comes from

• Kits (coming soon). We plan to sell low-cost printable kits, like a quote comparison kit, on our site and on Etsy. Payments will be handled by those stores; we’ll never see your card details.
• Affiliate links, sometimes. A few pages may link to products, such as a tool or a part, through affiliate programs. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Every paid link says so right next to it.
• Products for contractors, later. We plan to sell quote templates and similar tools to contractors and shops, to help them write clearer quotes.

What we don’t do

• We never sell or share your information with contractors, shops or lead buyers. We don’t run “get matched with a pro” forms.
• No paid placement in our verdicts. Nobody can pay to have a fee called “normal”, a price range changed, or a red flag removed.
• No affiliate links on red-flag content. Advice about what to question on a quote never carries a paid link.
• No lead-selling affiliates. We don’t partner with services that sell your contact details to contractors.

How we keep it honest

Price ranges and fee notes come from published, dated sources, listed on every page. Each page is checked against those sources and approved before it goes live, and each source shows the date we last checked it. If something looks wrong, email hello@getasquaredeal.com.
